Privacy Policy for Elf Maker
Effective date: October 18, 2026
Last updated: October 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dvain Solutions / Dávid Bősze ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Elf Maker mobile application ("App").
1) Information We Process
Photos and Face Data You Choose to Upload
- We process only a photo you take or select and submit for an elf transformation. A submitted photo may contain a person's face.
- The App resizes and compresses the selected photo on your device, then sends it through our Cloudflare Worker to OpenAI to create the requested image.
- We do not use facial recognition, identify the person in a photo, or create a biometric identifier or biometric template.
Purchases, Anonymous Identifier, and Usage
- RevenueCat processes purchase history, subscription status, entitlements, and an anonymous app user identifier so the App can provide and restore paid access.
- After a successful generation, we send RevenueCat limited usage attributes: the last usage date, lifetime or monthly generation count, and the applicable month. These attributes support usage analytics and service operation.
- Apple processes payments. We do not receive your full payment-card or bank-account details.
Operational and Diagnostic Data
- Our Cloudflare Worker records a generation event, success or failure outcome, response status, processing duration, whether OpenAI was contacted, model configuration, and estimated generation cost.
- These custom logs do not contain the uploaded photo, prompt, filename, client IP address, or RevenueCat user identifier.
- Cloudflare receives your IP address as part of providing the network service. The Worker uses it temporarily to apply a six-generation-per-minute abuse-prevention limit, but does not write it to our custom logs.
Support Communications
If you contact us, we receive the email address, message, and any information you voluntarily include, solely to respond to and manage your request.
2) How We Use Information
- Generate the elf transformation you request.
- Provide, verify, and restore subscriptions and entitlements.
- Apply generation limits and prevent abuse.
- Monitor reliability, diagnose failures, understand aggregate usage, and control service costs.
- Respond to support and privacy requests.
3) Image Processing and Local Storage
- Cloud processing: The selected photo is sent to OpenAI through our Cloudflare Worker solely to produce the requested transformation.
- Our server: The Worker forwards the photo for processing and returns the result. We do not intentionally persist the original or generated photo in our own database or custom logs.
- On your device: The original and transformed images are stored in the App's local gallery until you delete them. A transformed image is added to your Photos library only when you choose Save to Photos.
4) Third-Party Services
OpenAI
OpenAI receives the submitted photo and transformation instructions to generate the result. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default. Under OpenAI's default API controls, abuse-monitoring logs may contain customer content and may be retained for up to 30 days, unless longer retention is required by law or necessary to protect the service or others. Images flagged as potential child sexual abuse material may be retained for manual review, including when special retention controls are enabled. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy and API Data Controls.
Cloudflare
Cloudflare provides the serverless proxy, network security, short-term IP rate limiting, and operational logs. Cloudflare Workers Logs may retain our custom diagnostic events for up to seven days, depending on the account plan. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat
RevenueCat processes the anonymous app user identifier, purchase history, entitlements, subscription status, and limited generation-usage attributes described above. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Apple
Apple provides the App Store, processes payments, manages subscriptions, provides camera and Photos permissions, and displays the system review prompt. Apple's handling is governed by its Privacy Policy.
5) Data Retention
- Local images: Remain in the App's gallery until you delete them. Images you save to Photos must be deleted separately from the Photos app.
- OpenAI: API abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days by default, subject to the exceptions described above and in OpenAI's current documentation.
- Cloudflare diagnostics: Custom Worker logs may be retained for up to seven days. The IP-based rate-limit key is used for the short rate-limit window and is not included in our custom logs.
- RevenueCat: Purchase, entitlement, anonymous identifier, and usage-attribute retention is governed by RevenueCat's retention practices and our operational need to provide and restore purchases.
- Support: Support and privacy-request correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request and maintain appropriate records.
6) Your Choices and Requests
- Choose whether to take or select a photo and whether to submit it for transformation.
- Manage Camera and Photos permissions in iOS Settings.
- Delete original and transformed images from the in-app gallery, and separately delete exported images from Photos.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple App Store account.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of information we control by emailing dvainsolutions@gmail.com. Because the App does not require an account, we may need limited information to locate an anonymous purchase record, and in some cases we may be unable to associate an anonymous record with you.
We do not sell personal data, show third-party advertising, or use app data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
7) Legal Bases for EEA and UK Users
- Performance of a contract or requested service: to generate images and provide subscription features.
- Legitimate interests: to protect the service, prevent abuse, monitor reliability, understand aggregate usage, and respond to support requests.
- Consent where required: for system permissions or other processing where applicable. You can withdraw a device permission in iOS Settings.
8) Children’s Privacy
Elf Maker is not directed to children under 13 or the applicable minimum age in a user's jurisdiction. Do not submit a child's photo unless you are authorized to do so as their parent, guardian, or otherwise under applicable law.
9) Security and International Processing
We use transport encryption and server-side secret management, but no method of processing is completely secure. OpenAI, Cloudflare, RevenueCat, and Apple may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their respective safeguards and policies.
10) Changes
We may update this Policy as the App or its providers change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required.
